Holy Cross Family Ministries (HCFM), based out of Boston, USA, has been using the Familheey app to build its online HCFM Prayfest community since September 2020. As a family of Catholic ministries, HCFM inspires, promotes and fosters the prayer life and spiritual well-being of families throughout the world. Since 2020, the HCFM Prayfest community has become a digital platform for 27 centres across 17 countries spread across North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia to help families to pray.
The HCFM Prayfest community is a Catholic Church response to the global challenges of COVID-19, Climate Change and Conflict that have marked the 2020s decade. The challenges of the pandemic lockdown have seen the Catholic Church lead the world’s 1.34 billion Catholics worldwide closer to the ‘Domestic Church’, where the family and homes are seen as the unit of the Church.
Since its humble beginnings in the 1940s, HCFM has evolved into respected and reliable catalyst for inspiration, support and dynamic content on family life through a focus on spirituality and prayer, especially the Rosary. HCFM is known for its resources on counselling and research in the areas of family well-being. Central to HCFM’s success are the sayings of its iconic founder Venerable Patrick Peyton. Fr. Peyton popularized the phrases “The family that prays together stays together” and “A world at prayer is a world at peace”.
Digital platforms like HCFM Prayfest are leading the way in helping families to become torchbearers of spiritual transformation for the world. The community provides multilingual resources to build a Domestic Church in Catholic homes and communities around the world. A recent initiative of the HCFM Prayfest community was the BELOVED COMMUNITY Gratitude Prayer in 15 languages that brought together the HCFM centres from across North America, Latin America, Africa and Asia.
The BELOVED COMMUNITY initiative is building happy, healthy and holy communities in alignment with its Connect-Engage-Grow community model, the Familheey team looks forward to the opportunity to serve Holy Cross Family Ministry in building spaces for communities to stand together on a common digital platform.
