In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, while many health systems across the world are struggling to provide care for patients, the global economy is taking a downturn. The impacts of the disease on people have left several individuals in need of support to survive a hard time.
The Familheey COVID-19 Community Response Giveaway Event was held at the Igbo Catholic Community Centre on Saturday, May 9, 2020. The Houston based My Family Group was sponsored the Drive-thru Face Mask Giveaway to help families stay safe through the COVID-19 pandemic. Those who participated in the event described it as a steady flow of ‘cars, trucks, bikers and even a few on foot’.
Familheey is the forefront of the fight against the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Familheey COVID Support Network is in the forefront of fighting the Coronavirus pandemic by supporting doctors, healthcare workers and global communities across the US, Africa, India and Australia:
- Arranging medicines, equipment and supplies to reach different parts of the world
- Creating a COVID-19 networking platform helping doctors to collaborate across countries
- Providing timely information and latest information from WHO and healthcare organisations
Speaking on the success of the event, Chris Ulasi said: “I feel it turned out well at the scale it was organised.
